La Scuola

I have been helping kids see the artist within themselves at La Scuola now for almost two months. We Started out with the self portrait and it was a good way for me to be introduced to the children of the school. The project is meant for the child's identity. I started mostly working with the Kindergarten and Elementary and saw that the school had a projector and decided to make portraits from that process. I know some artist of these days use this method to make all of their works.

First they traced their photos next they retraced it with the permanent markers so they wouldn't loose any details and then the painted it. Which was the most fun and probably the hardest process. Learning to mix and change the colors as they went along was a different they started to see the colors and tones in their skin.

Barbie my boss was so happy. She can't wait till next year so we can start in the beginning of the year versus the end.
La Scuola its so beautiful, it has giant walls, lots of light and a good amount of space for experimenting and creating. By the end of next year i would like those walls to be full with art. To have many experiences and documentation.

Celebrate Youth Arts Festival
